College Board releases 2026 AP scores in July 2026. The typical release window is July 8–20, 2026, with scores often going live in waves by score subject. Check collegeboard.org for the official announcement closer to that date.
Score Release Timeline
- Late June: College Board begins processing all answer sheets and writing samples from May testing
- Early-mid July: Scores released to students online (usually free for first 12 months)
- Late July: Score reports sent to colleges designated when registering
- Fall: Colleges determine credit/placement based on their score policies (typically 3, 4, or 5)
Will I Get AP Credit?
Whether a score earns college credit depends on the institution. An Ivy League may require a 5 for Physics credit while a state university may award credit for a 3. Use College Board's "AP Credit Policy Search" to find the policy for colleges you're considering.
What If I Missed the Exam or Need to Send Scores
Score sends to colleges are typically $15 per report after the initial designation. Withholding, canceling, or sending scores after the fact is available through your College Board account. Scores are retained for 10 years.
