The 2027 AP exams are in May. Students who start building study habits in September and October score significantly higher than those who cram in April. Here is how to approach the year.
2027 AP Exam Prep Timeline
- Now–August: Light prep. If you are retaking, review what went wrong last year. If you are starting fresh, get familiar with the course format and what the exam rewards.
- September–October: Settle into your course. Take a diagnostic test in October to see which units need the most attention before you are deep in content.
- November–February: Unit-by-unit mastery. Practice questions on each unit as your class finishes it. Write at least one full essay per month with rubric feedback.
- March–April: Full-length practice tests. Time yourself. Write essays under real exam conditions and get scored feedback. Identify your remaining weak points.
- May: Review your mistakes from the last month. Rest the day before. Arrive early.
